We would like to tell you about an absolute dream of a little place that we love, just north of Boston.
Imagine, if you will, a little shop in a little New England town. Imagine that this shop has been owned and operated by the same family for the last 100 years. Now imagine that this shop makes the best sausages and meat pies you will ever find outside of England.
The meat pies come in a wide array of mouthwatering flavors, including apple-pork, lamb, Greek or Italian sausage, steak and kidney, and so many more. The filling is juicy, savory, and delicious, while the crust defies description. We are not too proud to admit that these pies blow ours out of the water. They’re the Platonic meat pie.
And yet there’s even more. Grab some of the tomato-garlic-cheese sausages for your next barbecue, or try their polony- an English breakfast sausage. The Scotch Eggs are a must.
So if you love us, and what we do, go and treat yourself. But don’t just take our word for it. Check out their website, or better yet, swing by for a visit. We know you won’t regret it.
(*Special thanks to Matt, who was absolutely right to talk us into the large box of pies, and double sausages. :) *)
These look awesome!
And so a new quest chain begins.
hmmm…. can I get some pies mailed to me? =D
yummm. I loved (and ate several!) the meat pies while in Australia. I would sooo be there to try these but Boston is a far commute from New Mexico. Just box up several and overnight them to me…along with a couple Scotch eggs.
I think I might be in love with their Scotch eggs….
they are the best pies ever… I grew up eating Thwaites Pies…
I am going to go!! I wasn’t able to go to the Burlington book signing, but I am ecstatic that this place is so close to me!
I can wholeheartedly guarantee that you’ll love this place. It just doesn’t get any better! Enjoy! :D
Just left – 9 pies, 2 scotch eggs, kielbasa, tomato sausage, pork bangers, bratwurst, and corned beef hash! The people were great and we got a tour – made sure to tell them where i heard about them.
Went this weekend after hearing about it through your blog; left with scotch eggs, savory ducks (little black lumps of duck liver pate), a container of their gorton spread (which must be tried! like spreadable sausage), and a bunch of pies: pork, chicken, bbq chicken, kielbasa, cheddarwurst, sausage & tomato, beef & onion, and I’m certainly forgetting some others. Any favorite pies I shouldn’t miss next time?
I’m jealous you snagged some of the savory ducks! They’re usually long sold out by the time I get there. :)
I especially like the lamb pies, but the basic pork just can’t be beat on account of its being brilliant.
Glad you stopped by, and loved it!
