Ahheee!!! :) I hope its me :)
Lemon Cakes!! Or bread fried in bacon fat.
I would love to be able to wear my shirt for our next GoT-themed food party. I’ve been looking for an excuse to make Pentoshi Duck and Honey Chicken again…Thanks for all the delicious recipes!
For the premier, I’ll be using the salted cod in my freezer to make a delectable Sisters Stew!
I’m having a GoT/ASoIF themed birthday party using recipes from the cookbook… it would be great if I could wear that sweet Lannister shirt while we eat!
Hi! I am a friend on facebook!
My absolute favorite recipe of yours is the oatbread with date, apple and orange. It’s practical, easy and delicious! I’ll make some of that with cheese, dates and a bit of wine (Dornish of course) for the premiere! YUM.
I’m going to try the strawberry pie again. For some reason it didn’t work for me when I made it for last season’s finale, so I’m going to try again!
Honeyed Chicken, Oatcakes with sharp cheddar and Wildling Cider :)
Can I have what she’s having?
Wild boar ribs with blueberry sauce, honey and spice basted game hens, black bread, crusty wheat bread, cheeses, figs, olives, small heirloom tomatoes, honeys, butter, peppers stuffed with goat cheese, honeyed locusts (crickets), raw nuts, lemon cakes, blueberry tart, wines, ale, mead. No forks or spoons. Knives only.
sweet stuff! I’ll be preparing those lovely stuffed green peppers to commemorate the new season! i’ll also be diving into the cookbook to find some accompaniment for the peppers…
The leek soup looks delicious!
I’m so excited for our GOT party! I think I’m going to be making breads, Bean and Bacon soup, Honeyed chicken, and possibly some rabbit if I can find it.
Roasted Chicken with roasted veggies and potatoes and a big glass of wine!!!
Lemon cakes!
I want to try making the little faux mice.
Definitely lemon cakes.
I will make the oat bread and eat it with honey along with some oxtail soup :) Delicious
Definitely making lemon cakes! Should be delish :)
I did the pork pie last season – and my father in law, getting the leftovers, now will not allow a single bad word to be said about me. I might do the beef pie with spiced squash for this season’s premiere.
Why for US only? :/
Your original “Elizabethan Buns” recipe, made with sweet sherry, is a breakfast (or really anytime) bread I make all the time. As you stated, the first bite is not overwhelming, but some flavor combination draws you back for more – again and again. I find them simply irresistible! (I’m glad I copied your first recipe for these buns as that was not what showed up in the book. Go back to your original recipe post and give others a chance to try them.) You are already my FB Friend. Though I am firmly in the Stark camp, my grandson is a Leo, born in Leo, so I would beg the Lannister Lion T for my prize.
Good point! We didn’t have time to secure the rights for the original Eliz. buns, for the book, so they got swapped. I’ll go fix that right now. ;)
a thick stew of mussels, crabs, and three kinds a fish. Compliments of @erikfromthaH
I am thinking that we’ll have tarts available to pilfer.
I’ve been plotting, planning and collecting (rustic looking plates and serving dishes, wooden candlesticks, cutlery with antler handles, and wooden goblets purchased at King Richard’s Faire) for my G.O.T. Feasting!
We will be having homemade mead, a platter of cheeses (some stinky or that have “gone blue”), hot cross buns (since it is Easter!) honeyed chicken, Sansa salad, buttered carrots, and lemon cakes for dessert. Gotta have the lemon cakes or there might be a riot! (-:
I love to snack on Sansa’s lemon cakes while watching Game of Thrones. Those and my sister’s special recipe we call Khaleesi cookies.
Mmmmm… me too. I also adored the cake-y dragon cookies. Delish.
Beef and bacon pie. Beautiful dish. I’ve had so many compliments.
Pick me!
Lemon Cakes, obviously… Or a Heart of redvelvet.
Breakfast with Jon Snow! Great way to start the day :)
I’m thinking we’ll have the delicious Honey chicken with oat bread…. And of course historical lemon cakes :)
Tarts and lemon cakes!! :D
Beef and bacon pie~
Bread and salt and Beef and Bacon pie!
I want Mongolian Milk Tea, but I think the friends I’ll be watching the season 3 premier with would probably prefer I make honeycakes.
As many of the finger foods as I can make before my son wakes up from his nap!
A shirt the likes of this would possibly fit over my chain mail (as somewhat of a surcoat), whilest I sip home-brewed blueberry mead from a goblet, enjoying the glory that shall be watching Game of Thrones: Season 3.
Umma’s Olive Bread! I found it on the website awhile ago, and it’s been a favorite in my house ever since. And of course some butter and honey to drizzle on top while its still warm – so good.
While donning a Lannister shirt, I would enjoy mulled wine, lemon cakes, and honeyed chicken.
I am going to make honey chicken, lemon cakes and the little mice.
Already like on Facebook (Jen Putnam)
I liked on Facebook! I’d eat little lemon cakes for Sansa. :)
Do want! I’d have to cook up a full meal for my GoT-fan friends just to show off the new threads.
Already following on Twitter (@JenE4423)
Can’t wait to try the honey chicken or lemon cakes! A bowl of brown would be great on a chilly day like today too.
I have my entire Easter dinner planned around the recipes. I’ve been testing all those I haven’t made yet – everything so far has turned out! So excited!
> Starter: Medieval Leek Soup (Making it tonight for the first time)
> Main Courses:
>> Honeyed Chickens (dinner last night – YUM!)
>> Roast Boar (Yes, yes, yes, my hunter-hubby got one this year!)
>> Duck with Lemons (Dinner last week – DELISH!)
> Sides
>> Onions in Gravy (This has become my all time fave onion dish – never touching another onion ring again! EVER!)
>> Roman Buttered Carrots (very good)
>> Sweetcorn Fritters (trying them tonight)
>> Summer Greens Salad (tasty & beautiful – a little hard to find edible flowers where i live but I did it)
>> Cheese-and-Onion Pie (trying it this weekend)
>> Medieval Pease Pie (Served it to dinner guests & they all raved & wanted the recipe. This is AMAZING!!)
>> White Beans and Bacon (YUM)
>> Venison Pies (using the Modern version filling in the traditional crust – will see how that works! Haven’t tried this recipe yet – and only 2 more weeks to attempt it as a trial! Hunter-hubby scored the buck in December!)
> Dessert:
>> Medieval Applecakes (Planning them for dessert on Friday night)
>> Medieval Poached Pears (Looks too beautiful not to try. Maybe test ’em this week end)
>> Elizabethan Lemon Cakes (LOVE LOVE LOVE these!)
We’re having a party for the premiere, and I can’t wait to make pease pie. Next year, I will plan better and start making mead in time!
I’ll be eating the brown oat bread you posted the other day. I made some on Saturday and it’s delicious!
I’ll be eating another one of those lovely pork pies. They’re the best!
I’m thinking Hot Pie’s Cherry Crumble sounds like the perfect dish to eat while wearing the Almighty t-shirt!
Of course I’ll be having some Grilled Snake from Dorne along with their super hot Dornish peppers. I’d like to chase it down with some Arbor Gold :)
ME! Pick me, oh god/dess of randomness! I just bought A Feast of Ice & Fire, and need a properly themed wardrobe to cook in. :)
I am making those darling little dormice appetizers for our premiere!
LEMON CAKES!
The baked apples!!!
I already follow on FB and Twitter, these shirts look so cool!
we are making a feast- main dishes will be rack of lamb and almond trout, first course will be the modern leek soup, deserts will be lemon cakes and poached pears and we will probably have the Sansa salad and mint drink
Sister’s Stew and black bread.
Wahoo! I follow, and liked, and cannot wait for the season 3 premier!
I’ll be watching it while indulging in some fishcakes from “A Feast of Ice & Fire”, and a nice dark stout, Baratheon-style. :)
Lemon cakes! I’d be all about the lemon cakes!
Venison pies and onions in gravy :)
I’ll be making the bread and salt for our premiere night, and one of my friends will be helping me with baking so there will also be Arya’s Snitched Tarts and Lemon Cakes!
The weather is still cold here, so a Night’s Watch meal is in order: black bread, venison barley stew, and a dried fruit tart.
Probably nothing good since I have to work earlier in the day (boo retail). But I’ll watch it again the next day whilst eating Honeyed Chicken and white beans with bacon!!
It’s cold up here in the north (Minnesota), so I’d like to try some candied ginger to fire things up!
I’ll be imbibing some homebrewed mead!
Maybe Dornish lamb and pide, but the honeyed chicken and brown oat bread were so good I may have to make them again!
Man, I would LOVE this! I’ve been meaning to make your Sisters’ Stew again sometime soon, while we still have cold weather (made it before and it was fantastic).
Itching to try a pork pie wearing proper attire (GoT tshirt!)
Simply put I would love to wear one of the T-shirts while enjoying a Barbarian Feast with tables filled with meats, mead and whatever else they could hold up ;)
Wow those look amazing! A lady should look proper while attending a feast after all!
Oohhh Meat pie and lemon cakes (and of course beer)
Planning to make White Beans and Bacons for our pre-viewing party dinner, and Tyroshi Honeyfingers as a nice dessert for the party guests!
Lamprey pie!
Spent grain stew!
Love your site!
Definitely making lemon cakes.
