Hi so I got the cookbook back in April and wow I’ve made quite a bit of the recipes. And I love to expirament with them. One amazing thing I’ve discovered is with the applecakes adding some caramel bites I with it is abosolutely amazing and the dough is great for frying sweets I typically use a stiff beignt dough but the one in the cookbook is so great
Dear Chelsea and Sariann,
I’m a great fan of your page, your book, and your work in general– cooking has become a comfort, default unwind-time, and artistic outlet for me, and thanks to you, it’s also become an integral part of my weekend DnD or GoT role playing game sessions. The first time I baked bread on my own was Christmas 2012, and it was the black bread recipe from your newly-published book (my ONLY specific gift request that year).
Thank you for bringing the BEST elements of fantasy and history to life– so many GoT fans have gripes about their favorite characters dying or being abused, but I’ve yet to hear a single word against your sweet and savory medieval beef and bacon pie.
Actually I like your recipes so much that my directing partner and I are including a full medieval (Dornish) menu for our producers’ party after wrapping work on our film project. It’s actually up your alley if you’re a Game of Thrones fan, and it has the novelty of being a fan-made piece with the objective of realizing the Tower of Joy scene BEFORE the TV show does.
Would you look at our ToJ page, and Like it if you’re interested in seeing the project made? We’ve already got an impressive cast and crew, and are trying to generate online awareness before our crowdfunding campaign begins.
Thanks again for sharing your gifts, and allowing us to share ours :)
Cheers Miladies,
-Paul

Hello! I have your book and absolutely love it. But where in the world would I find smelt, sardines, hamsi and snake at? I realllyyy want to try these recipes bit haven’t been able to find the fresh small fish, only canned sardines. And I haven’t even looked for snake yet.
Your best bet is to find and befriend a fishmonger. Barring that, ask at the seafood section of your local grocery stores when they might get them in.
Ahh thank you very much. I can’t wait to try out these recipes.
Hello, I own a real bookstore: Old Books on Front St., in Wilmington NC and I also write food book reviews for Devour Magazine (a regional food magazine). I reviewed A Feast of Ice and Fire for the upcoming issue and found it wonderful. I would like to invite ya’ll to come to visit us in Wilmington for a demonstration/signing event at Old Books. Would you please email me so we could look at a time in the new year? Thank you so much and congratulations on your wonderful book!

Dear Chelsea and Sariann,
I’m a Journalism student doing a dissertation on the topic of sci-fi and fantasy superfans. As a Game of Thrones fan myself I’m so impressed with your blog and would love to interview you if you have the time.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards,
Lyubomira
You guys should totally make some crock pot versions. I’ve tried with a few recipes and failed but I think tall could do it
Ladies, I love your blog so much and bought this cookbook last year. I have a question / request though – have you ever tried making a cockatrice? It’s a classic medieval dish, and I would love to see a modernised recipe.
Mongolian milk tea bricks have apparently become hard to find. The brick tea which is aged is a mild and very smooth with a natural sweetness. Milk can be added but is a wonderful tea and apparently has been discovered by the Chinese and is hard to find now. I only have one brick left it is aged over 20 years. I can only imagine what it is worth now. The peoples of mongolia and Tibet depend on tea with milk or butter as an essential nutrient especially in the winter, when phytonutrients from tea and indirectly milk products provide a lot of nutrition. I imagine for your Game of Throne purposes, tsampa, a roasted and ground barley flour, with boiling water or tea poured into it makes a hearty and taste breakfast. It is an excellent foodstuff for long distance foot or horse travel, as it keeps well and is easy to prepare.Tsampa can be obtained fresh mail order in the US.
Hi, I was looking for your recipe for spent grain bread. But game of brews is offline. Could you please send a link?
Hi, was checking the website for some ideas outside of the cookbook, and it looks like the “recipes by region” link is down. Thanks!
Hi Chelsea,
I was searching for Game of Thrones recipes and came across your website! Love it all!
I loved the recipes and decided to include them my “Game of Thrones Season 6 Party Planning Guide”. I also designed my own GoT invitation, wine labels, and cupcake wrappers that compliment your recipes for my readers to download, I think you will get a kick out if them too!
For GoT fans planning a party: http://www.designgenesstudio.com/blogs/news/93985283-game-of-thrones-season-6-party-planning-guide
Let me know what you think :)
Cheers,
Phoenix
Hey Phoenix! Show me yours and I’ll show you mine! This is right up my alley and I’m sorta doing the same thing! I hope your party rocks and honestly, I might snag some of your ideas for my party too!
